Hello dear friends,
I hope this blog finds you in high spirits. Today’s writing prompt caught my attention and stirred some deep reflection:
“Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?”
At first glance, it seems like a simple question, yet the more I pondered it, the more I realized how profoundly love has shaped my life.
Not always through grand gestures or dramatic moments, but often quietly—through passion, presence, and the gentle, heartfelt actions of those around me.
Love, I’ve discovered, has a way of appearing when we least expect it, in the most ordinary yet unforgettable moments.
A Love That Began with a Paddle
One of my earliest encounters with love came disguised as a sport—table tennis. I still remember my school sports day, the first time I picked up a paddle and tapped a lightweight ball across the table. The rhythmic tick-tack sound, the speed, the thrill of scoring a point—something stirred inside me that day.
That moment sparked a lifelong passion.
From school corridors to my college hostel’s common room, table tennis became a constant companion.
I played whenever I could—sometimes winning, sometimes losing, but always learning. The game gave me joy, structure, and a sense of belonging. In its own way, it made me feel loved—by the game itself.
Lessons Beyond the Table
As I stepped into competitive play, table tennis revealed its deeper lessons. It taught me patience in a world that demands instant results.
Every rally required focus, every serve precision, and every match mental resilience.
More than physical fitness, TT sharpened my mind. Over time, I noticed how the alertness I developed at the table spilled into everyday life—writing with clarity, painting with intention, and approaching problems with calm strategy.
Love doesn’t always come from people. Sometimes, it comes from the things that shape us, discipline us, and quietly help us grow.

The Power of a Like-Minded Community
Another beautiful expression of love arrived through the people the game brought into my life.
Fellow players became friends, and friends became family. We celebrated victories, supported each other through losses, and exchanged strategies late into the evening.
Being part of a community that encourages growth—not just success—creates a powerful sense of belonging. That encouragement, that shared passion, is love in its collective form.
More Than Winning
Table tennis also taught me sportsmanship—an underrated but essential life lesson. In a world obsessed with winning, the game reminded me of fairness, respect, and grace.
Win or lose, a handshake and a smile mattered. Losses became teachers rather than failures. These values followed me beyond the table—into relationships, work, and life itself.

A Memory That Changed Everything
Yet, among all the moments where I’ve felt loved, one memory shines brighter than the rest—my retirement party.
It was a winter evening, and the banking hall buzzed with laughter as colleagues, friends, and family gathered to mark the end of my career.
I expected speeches and polite farewells. What I didn’t expect was my granddaughter stepping up to the microphone.
She was just ten years old.
Holding a handwritten letter, she spoke about our shared moments—learning to ride a bicycle, early morning walks, bedtime stories, kite flying, baking cookies, and drawing together. Her voice trembled as she spoke, and then she said:
“Grandpa, you’ve always made me feel safe and happy. Now I want to make you feel the same—because you deserve it.”
Time stood still.
In that instant, I felt profoundly seen, valued, and loved. Not for my career or accomplishments—but simply for being present in her life.

Love in the Smallest Details
That moment taught me something powerful: love doesn’t need grandeur. Sometimes, it arrives in a child’s handwritten letter.
I see it too in everyday life—my wife reminding me to take my thyroid medication, my son’s weekly check-in calls, and friends joining me for evening walks and playing Table Tennis.
Love often speaks through actions, not words.
It’s the cup of tea after a long day. The quiet listening ear. The unexpected hug.
Why These Stories Matter
Sharing moments where we’ve felt loved helps us recognize how surrounded we truly are. It encourages gratitude and inspires us to offer the same kindness to others.
Love anchors us when the world feels chaotic.

My Final Takeaway
Whether through a lifelong passion like table tennis or the innocent words of a granddaughter, love has a way of finding us. It doesn’t demand perfection—only authenticity.
As I continue to write, paint, and explore life, I carry these memories as quiet reminders that love, in its purest form, makes us stronger.
Over to You
Now I invite you to reflect. When was the last time you felt truly loved?
A gesture, a word, or simply someone showing up?
Let’s celebrate those moments—because in the end, love is what makes life meaningful.
Until next time, stay cheerful and stay loved.

BE HAPPY… BE ACTIVE… BE FOCUSED… BE ALIVE
If this post inspired you, show some love! 💙

Dear Verma ji,
What a beautifully written and deeply moving reflection. You have captured the essence of love with such grace and clarity—showing us that its truest form is not in the spotlight, but in the quiet, consistent, and heartfelt moments that weave through a lifetime.
Your story of table tennis is a powerful reminder that love can indeed be a passion, a teacher, and a faithful companion. It’s wonderful how a simple sport gave you so much—discipline, joy, community, and a sharper mind. You’ve shown that love shapes us not only through people, but through the pursuits that become part of our soul.
And then, the memory of your granddaughter’s words—what a priceless gift. In her innocent honesty, she reflected back the love you’ve given all these years. That moment, where you felt seen not for what you’ve done but for who you are, is something so pure and profound. It’s a legacy of love that will live on through generations.
Thank you for reminding us all to look for love in everyday gestures—in a morning walk, a caring reminder, a game played with friends, or a child’s heartfelt letter. Your words encourage gratitude and inspire us to be more present and loving in our own lives.
You’ve lived a life rich in love, and now you’re gifting that wisdom to others through your writing. That in itself is an act of love.
With warmth and respect,
Srikanth

Beautiful Vijay. Youve taken an interesting approach to the prompt, but in so doing, you’ve explored something deeper. How groups form, societies build and the benefits of being an integral part. You’re right, live isn’t just in the grand gestures, its more powerful in the communities we’re part of.
