This poem celebrates everyday joy—blue skies, birdsong, kind strangers, and family moments—as the true “key to happiness,” showing that each new day is a fresh beginning filled with light and gratitude.
Enjoy the poem in simple and optimistic words that define a Happy Life.
The Key to Happiness #
Today I am happy and light,
Everywhere I turn is bright.
Blue sky smiling over me,
Soft ground holding, worry-free.
Morning walk beneath the trees,
Birds are singing with the breeze.
Flowers burst in colours bold,
Painting joy in red and gold.
When I meet a stranger’s eyes,
Simple words can make me wise.
Every face I chance to see
Holds a little key for me.
At the dinner table, free,
Family laughs surrounding me.
Heart so light, no fear, no end,
Life itself becomes my friend.
Now I know true happiness:
Start each day with gratefulness.
Every sunrise lets me see—
A new beginning lives in me.

Thank you so much for your kind words! ❤️🌹
I’m truly glad the emotions reached you the way I hoped they would.
Sometimes the deepest feelings become clearer when we place them into words,
and knowing they touched your heart means more than I can say.

You have hit the key to happiness right on here. Being grateful for what we have, no matter how small is the way to go, rather than lamenting what we have not. Enjoy your day. Allan

Dear Verma ji,
What a beautiful and uplifting poem you have shared! It truly captures the essence of finding joy in life’s simplest, most precious moments. Your words paint such a vivid, warm, and hopeful picture—from the blue sky and singing birds to the laughter of family and the kindness of strangers. The message that happiness is a choice we make each day, rooted in gratitude and a fresh start, is both timeless and deeply inspiring.
You have a gift for turning everyday observations into a powerful recipe for a contented life. Thank you for this lovely reminder to carry a light heart and an open, grateful spirit. It’s a wonderful piece that brings a smile and a sense of peace to the reader.
Warm regards and happy writing

When I read your poem this morning, I put music to it. Not on purpose it just happened.
I put the music from Don McLean’s song Vincent about Vincent van Gogh .
Paint your palette blue and gray
Look out on a summer’s day.
You transported me

What a beautiful thing to share!
If my poem naturally found its rhythm in the gentle strains of Vincent, that is the highest compliment I could receive. Don McLean’s tribute to Van Gogh carries such emotion, softness, and depth that knowing my words resonated in that same musical space truly moves me.
