🎨 The Second Inning

I hung my boots, the clock stood still,
No meetings called, no urgent drill.
Yet in my heart, a spark remained,
A fire unburnt, a dream unchained.

No harsh alarms at morning’s call,
Just wings of thought embracing all.
The world, once blurred in daily haze,
Now bursts with charm through sunlit days.

I found my pen, my brush, my soul,
Unwritten tales began to roll.
My canvas smiled in hues so wide,
With every stroke, I danced inside.

No titles now, no office name,
But peace and purpose lit the flame.
Each day unfolds like poetry,
A masterpiece that sets me free.

I paint, I write, I laugh, I roam,
In every breath, I feel at home.
The sky so near, the stars align,
When dreams ignite — a life divine.

My garden blooms, the coffee’s warm,
A grandchild’s hug, life’s sweetest charm.
The songs I hum, the dance I weave,
Are joys I gave, now I receive.

Retirement’s not a closing door,
It’s opening life to something more.
So here I stand — reborn, alive —
In my second inning, I truly thrive.
