# A Road Not Meant for Me #

This is a touching reflection on unfulfilled dreams, emotional detours, and the quiet pain of losing oneself in the quest for acceptance and love. This poem reveals the inner conflict of living for others while suppressing his own truth, only to discover that not every journey brings joy—and not every path is meant to be walked.

Yet, through heartbreak and weariness, the poem leaves us with a quiet resilience—the enduring will to keep living with honesty and hope, even in the face of sorrow.

A Road Not Meant for Me

My dreams once bright, now lie so still,
They never came, though wished with will.
What I held close slipped through like sand,
My day turned dusk and faded from hand.

The ones I loved walked out the door,
But their silence echoing evermore.
While strangers stayed & shaped my fate,
A twist of time, I learned too late.

To please the world, I lost my voice,
And buried truth beneath their choice.
The questions life asked seemed so small,
Yet answers hurt the most of all.

I tried to build with hope and grace,
To bring some light to every place.
But joy grew thin, and smiles would fade,
And dreams I had, just turned to shade

I reached for love to feel complete,
But lost myself in each defeat.
Now weary steps tread silently—
This road was never meant for me.

Not every star will heal the night,
Not every wrong can turn out right.
But still I hope, and still I try,
To live with truth before goodbye.

  1. “Breathtakingly raw and achingly beautiful— Verma ji a soul’s lament that still finds light in the honesty of surrender. Poetry that lingers like twilight. 🌄💔”

    • Thank you from the depths of my heart for such a soul-touching response. 🌸
Your words are poetry in themselves—“twilight that lingers” captures exactly what I hoped to leave behind… a quiet echo of feeling, fading gently, yet staying within.

Yes, sometimes surrender isn’t defeat, but a softer kind of courage—the kind that lets light in through the cracks.

I’m truly humbled that the poem resonated with you in this way. 🙏
May we all continue to find beauty, even in our most silent sighs. 💫

  2. This is an exquisitely poignant piece, Verma ji. 🌌
Your words speak with raw honesty and quiet strength touching the universal ache of chasing acceptance while slowly fading from oneself.

Every stanza carries the weight of longing and lessons earned through pain, yet beneath it all flows a silent river of resilience. The closing lines, especially, hold a rare grace choosing to live with truth, even when the path is lonely.

Thank you for giving voice to the silent journeys so many travel. Truly, not every road is meant to be walked but every truth deserves to be lived. 🙏✨

    • Thank you so much for your deeply thoughtful and heartfelt words. 🌸
Your reflection means more than I can express—it beautifully echoes the emotions I tried to convey in this poem.

Yes, some roads test us, some leave us changed, and others simply aren’t meant for our feet… but the truth we gather along the way becomes our quiet strength.

Your response is a gentle reminder that even in solitude, there are kind souls who truly see and feel the essence behind the words.

Grateful beyond words for your presence on this journey. 🙏💫
Let’s keep walking with truth, no matter how silent the path.
