# When Our Foreheads Met #

“When Our Foreheads Met” is a heartfelt tribute to the deep, silent moments that show true love. Inspired by a sketch of two lovers.

This poem reveals how love often communicates in silence — through the gentle touching of foreheads, shared breaths, and the unspoken promise of being there for one another. .

When Our Foreheads Met

In the hush of an unspoken vow,
You held me close — my world, somehow,
Fell silent as our shadows twined,
Two souls, one breath, one heart, one mind.

Your arms, a harbor in life’s stormy sea,
Lifted me gently, keeping me free.
In your eyes, I saw truth unfold,
A thousand stories I never told.

My laughter echoed in your chest,
As if the stars had come to rest
Upon your skin — warm, safe, divine,
Like fate had whispered, “You are mine.”

No need for words, no need for sound,
In that one moment, love was found.
A meeting of foreheads, soft and true,
A silent promise — me and you.

Time paused in that sacred embrace,
The world blurred, but not your face.
And all I knew, and all held kindly,
Was wrapped in you, wrapped so finely.

This sketch, this stroke, this charcoal trace,
Is not just bodies, not just space.
It is the art of love in flight —
A glimpse of day inside the night.

  2. What a profoundly beautiful and moving piece, Verma ji. “When Our Foreheads Met” is more than a poem; it’s a soulful meditation on the very essence of love. You have captured the immense power of a silent, intimate moment with stunning clarity and tenderness.

The imagery is exquisite – from “two souls, one breath, one heart, one mind” to the world blurring but a loved one’s face remaining clear. You articulate a feeling that is often felt but so rarely expressed with such grace. The final stanza, connecting it back to the inspiring sketch, perfectly frames the entire work, reminding us that true art, whether in lines or in verse, captures the spirit, not just the form.

Thank you for sharing this heartfelt tribute. It’s a truly special piece of writing.

That moment—the meeting of two foreheads, that quiet merging of breath and feeling—was something I wanted to honour with simplicity and sincerity, and your kind reflection tells me it resonated as I hoped it would.
