It would be a story of a man who spent decades balancing numbers in the banking world, only to discover that his true calling lay not in ledgers but in words, colors, and melodies.
A Journey Beyond Numbers
Born with a curious mind and a heart full of dreams, I, Mr. Verma, never imagined that my life’s journey would be divided into two strikingly different phases.
For years, I followed a structured path in the banking sector, mastering finances, managing figures, and living within the boundaries of corporate life.
While I excelled in my profession, a part of me yearned for something more—a world beyond numbers, where creativity flowed unhindered.
It was only after retirement that I found the freedom to explore my true passion. I swapped balance sheets for blank canvases, financial reports for heartfelt poetry, and office hours for soulful storytelling.
The world of creativity embraced me, and I embraced it back with open arms.
The Awakening of an Artist
The first strokes of my paintbrush on canvas were hesitant, but with time, they grew bolder, more expressive. I discovered the joy of abstract painting, where every splash of color carried a story.
My home slowly transformed into a gallery of my emotions, each painting a testament to my evolving artistic journey.
My creative expression wasn’t limited to painting alone. Writing, something I had never deeply explored in my banking days, became my new language.

My blog, Retired Kalam, became my haven, where I connected with like-minded souls, sharing wisdom, experiences, and the simple joys of life.
Dancing, Singing, and Finding Joy
Life after retirement wasn’t just about solitary creativity. It became a celebration of life itself. I found joy in dancing—whether it was alone in the living room or simply swaying to the rhythm of my own heartbeat.
Music became a part of my soul, and I created heartfelt song videos that captured the beauty of nostalgia, love, and dreams.
My adventurous spirit took me to new places, from the serene landscapes of Darjeeling to the spiritual heights of Gangtok. Every journey became a story, every destination a source of inspiration.
Even at 65, I found myself kayaking, embracing the thrill of new experiences with the enthusiasm of a young explorer.
A Life of Purpose and Sharing
My biography wouldn’t be complete without mentioning the importance of giving back. Through my writing, I share insights on happiness, mindfulness, health, and the art of living well.
I believe that true joy lies not just in personal achievements but in inspiring others to find their own creative spark.
As I continue this beautiful journey, I realize that life doesn’t slow down after retirement—it begins anew.
My story is proof that one can reinvent themselves at any age, turning past experiences into stepping stones for a more vibrant and fulfilling life.
