You see the smile I wear, so bright and bold,

You see the sparkle in my eyes,
Yet tears I stifled wore a fake smile.
You hear sweet words, a hopeful sound,
But screams of silence echo all around.

You dream of flowers, a path of softest grace,
But thorns I’ve walked on, leaving a bloody trace.
You mark the changing years, a celebration grand,
I see loved ones changed, I couldn’t understand.

You feel the warmth of bonds, a loving embrace,
But I’ve watched them freeze, this lonely space.
You sing of spring, of blossoms fresh and new,
But autumn’s sting has withered dreams I knew.

You speak of love, a timeless, endless rhyme,
But witnessed its decay, consumed by time.
You find sweet rhythm in the words I write,
But curses whispered, born of a lonely night.

You paint with hope, in colors vibrant, bold,
But darkness seeps within, a story left untold.
You steal the laughter, the joy, the fleeting cheer,
While life drowns deeper, in this going year.

You only see the smile, a mask I choose to wear,
Concealing all the pain, a burden I have to bear.
