Embracing the Rollercoaster of Creativity
Hello, my friends,
I hope this message finds you all in good spirits. Today, I want to share a personal reflection on my recent creative journey—a journey filled with both triumphs and challenges.
At the beginning of this month, I set an ambitious goal for myself: to create 51 drawings or paintings. However, as the days flew by, I found myself at the end of the month with only 31 completed pieces—far short of my target.
While this might seem like a setback, I’m not discouraged. Instead, I see it as a stepping stone, a part of the rollercoaster ride that is the creative process.

The Highs and Lows of Creative Pursuits
This past month was an emotional whirlwind for me, with several personal matters that added to the distress. These moments of turmoil inevitably impacted my ability to create.
Yet, amidst the chaos, I found solace in my art. Each drawing and painting became a refuge, a space where I could channel my emotions and find peace.
While I didn’t reach my original goal, I’m proud of the work I did produce. The positive feedback and beautiful remarks from those who have seen my pieces have been incredibly encouraging.
They fuel my passion for art and drive me to keep creating.

Looking Ahead: A New Month, A New Challenge
As I prepare for the new month, I’m determined to achieve my goal of 51 pieces. This time, I’m approaching the challenge with renewed enthusiasm and a clear plan.
I’m ready to dive into my art with more vigor and creativity than ever before. It’s going to be another exciting journey, and I’m eager to see where it takes me.

Exploring Abstract Painting: A New Frontier
One of the highlights of this past month has been my exploration of abstract painting. Abstract art isn’t just about splashing colors on a canvas—it’s about choosing colors with intention and brilliance.
It requires a whole new way of seeing and interpreting the world around us. Abstract painting focuses on the beauty of shades, colors, patterns, and textures. Unlike representational art.
It doesn’t aim to depict reality in a literal sense. Instead, it’s about playing with visual elements to create images that might not be immediately recognizable.

Tips for Starting Your Own Abstract Painting Journey
For those interested in abstract painting, I want to share tips and suggestions that have helped me. These prompts aim to free your creativity and allow you to experiment without fear.
Draw Lines with Your Non-Dominant Hand:
Start by making scribbles, circles, or lines with your non-dominant hand. This exercise helps to break free from the constraints of perfectionism and encourages spontaneity.
Color Block with Three Colors:
Choose three colors and block your canvas with them. Think about repetition and variation in space. There’s no right or wrong way to do this—just let the colors guide you.

Use One Tool to Make Marks:
Limit yourself to one tool, such as a toothbrush, bubble wrap, or your fingers. This restriction can lead to unexpected and exciting results.
Incorporate Leftover Paint:
Use leftover paint from a previous project to start your new piece. This not only reduces waste but also adds a layer of continuity to your work.
Use a Reference Photo:
Choose a reference photo, perhaps from nature, and squint your eyes to focus on the values rather than the details. Use the photo as inspiration rather than a blueprint.

Stick to One Dark Color:
Create a composition using only one dark color. This exercise challenges you to focus on form and contrast, which can lead to striking results.
Experiment with Fluid Paint:
Pour fluid paint onto your canvas and let it flow naturally. You can leave it as is or manipulate it with a brush or scraper to create different effects.
Paint to Music:
Let music guide your brushstrokes. This is especially enjoyable when working on a larger canvas, as the rhythm can influence the movement and energy of your piece.
The Magic of Abstract Art
Each time an artist starts putting marks on paper, it’s a new beginning—an opportunity to create something unique.
Abstract painting, in particular, compels us to see the world differently. It nudges us to spot the extraordinary in the ordinary. It’s a form of art that’s deeply personal, where the artist’s intuition and emotions take center stage.

As I continue to explore abstract painting, I find that it allows me to express myself in ways I never thought possible. It’s a journey of discovery, both of the world around me and of my own inner landscape.
So, if you’re feeling inspired, I encourage you to pick up a brush and start your own abstract painting journey.
Remember, there’s no right or wrong in art—only endless possibilities. And as I prepare for the challenges of the coming month, I’m excited to see where my creativity will lead me next.

Happy painting
