“We are not fragile leaves that fall at the slightest gust;
let the storm know its boundaries.”😊
In today’s world, where social media and news are often filled with negativity, it’s natural to feel a bit depressed and anxious. The constant bombardment of negative information can easily affect our mental well-being.
But today, I’ve made a resolution: to change my thinking, to change myself, and to live a better life. I’ve decided to work on overcoming my negativity and my weaknesses, to strive for a more fulfilling existence.
There’s a saying: iron cuts iron, diamonds cut diamonds, and poison can counter poison. But anger? Anger can only be overcome by love.
As we age, we often hear the news of the passing of friends and relatives. It’s a scary reality that weighs heavily on our hearts, and this fear needs to be addressed because it weakens our immune systems.
our mental resilience is crucial.
In these challenging times, our mental resilience is crucial. We must avoid negativity to keep ourselves strong.
Journalist Sudhir Chaudhary recently pointed out that constant exposure to news about death can push anyone into depression. He suggested that we should also seek out positive news— stories that inspire us and lift our spirits.
Happiness is essential for maintaining our health, and only when we are happy can we hope to win the battle against negativity.
But finding a way to manage this irritation is crucial. So, how do we do it?
Let me share a beautiful story that might shed some light.
During the lockdown, banks remained open as they were considered essential services. In one such bank, there was a clerk who treated his customers as if he were herding sheep.
People were frustrated with his behavior. He interacted with all sorts of people throughout the day, and at the slightest mistake, he would snap, scolding customers loudly.
His nature seemed to be perpetually irritable, constantly getting annoyed at everyone.
One day, as usual, the bank was crowded, and a long line formed in front of the clerk. An elderly man submitted a form to the clerk, who immediately started berating him.
“This is how you fill out a form?” the clerk scolded. “The government provides these forms for free, so you just fill them out carelessly. If you had to pay for these forms, you would ask ten people before filling it out correctly.”

The clerk vented all his anger on the elderly man
The clerk vented all his anger on the poor elderly man. Meanwhile, a person standing in line had been observing the clerk’s irritable behavior. Quietly, this person stepped out of the line, took a glass of water from a nearby jug, and offered it to the clerk.
The clerk glared at him and asked, “What is this?”
The person smiled and replied, “You’ve been speaking for a long time, so your throat must be dry, and it’s quite hot. Please drink this water.”
The clerk, still glaring, took the glass of water but looked at the person as if he were from another planet.
As he drank the water, he said, “Since I always speak the truth, everyone finds it bitter. That’s why no one likes me. Do you know even the peon here doesn’t offer me water?”
The person just smiled at the clerk and returned to his place in the line. Soon, people began to notice that the clerk’s demeanor had softened. He was now dealing with everyone more calmly and politely, completing everyone’s work with a sense of peace and decorum.

They received a call from the bank clerk.
The next evening, the person who had offered the water received a call from the bank clerk. The clerk said, “I found your number from the form you submitted. I’m calling to thank you.”
The person replied, “It’s nice to hear from you. What’s the matter?”
The clerk explained, “I’m calling to thank you because you solved a big problem for me.”
The person asked, “What problem did I solve for you?”
The clerk then revealed that his mother and his wife never got along, and they were constantly arguing. That day, when he returned home from work, they started quarreling in front of him.
So, he gave a glass of water to his mother and another to his wife. Since then, the atmosphere has been peaceful, and they even started laughing and talking.
Hearing this, the person said, “I’m very happy that my little tip helped solve your problem. It’s indeed a mantra to cool down someone’s anger.”

Many times, we find ourselves in situations where people around us are angry, and it bothers us. We wonder why they are showing anger for no reason. Often, we respond to their anger with our own anger, which only worsens the situation.
But responding to anger with anger never leads to a good outcome. Instead, try responding to anger with love. Just a little bit of love. You’ll see that the coolness of a little love can calm even the most intense anger.
Love is the infallible remedy for anger. By practicing this, you can feel a change within yourself. Your immune system will stay strong, and you can live a balanced life even during challenging times.
