Farewell of a Leaf

Aching gold, once vibrant green,
I clung to life, had a joyful scene.
Moments of happiness and truth,
Now severed, cast in skies of blue.

I danced with spring, a verdant crown,
Providing shade, a cool renown.
Beneath my arms, a world transpired,
Laughter and tears, secrets inspired.

Witness I stood, to whispers shared,
Loves born and lost, burdens bared.
Each sigh, each dream, time unfurled,
Etched in my bark, a whispered world.

But autumn’s kiss, a chilling hand,
Stripped my emerald, claimed the land.
I fell, a sigh upon the breeze,
No longer anchored in the trees.

The earth, once warm, now cold and stark,
Night holds no solace in the dark.
The wind, a thief, steals me away,
Across the plains, where shadows play.

Below, a world I barely knew,
Of empty eyes and hearts untrue.
Deception’s web, a tangled snare,
Where kindness fades, burdens bear.

Is this the world that bloomed so bright?
Has love and hope lost their light?
Perhaps it was time that veiled my view,
But now the truth cuts piercing through.

With sorrow’s weight, I bid farewell,
To memories cherished, stories tell.
This weary leaf, released at last,
Finds solace in the fading past.
