This poem captures the sentiment of feeling worn down by the stresses of life and questioning whether one has indeed grown old prematurely.
It reflects on the loss of simple joys and activities due to the burdens of everyday life and the physical toll that stress can take on the body.
Yes, I’ve seen 60-year-olds who seem young and 20-year-olds who seem old. The only difference is the level of stress they experience. Here is my poem..
Have I grown old?
Forgotten to smile
Forgotten to fight in love
Forgotten to make conversations
Forgotten to fly kites
Have I grown old?
Forgotten to get angry
Forgotten to dream
Forgotten to laugh out loud
Forgotten to celebrate,
Have I grown old?
Many teeth have fallen out
Stopped reading newspapers
Eyes have also weakened
Glasses are dangling on my eyes
Forgot to play cricket
Even retired now
Have I grown old?
Sugar, BP have all increased
All clothes have become tight
Hair on the head has fallen
Mustaches have turned white
Forgot to sing melodies now.
Have I grown old?

Life!!
Keeps moving
Things keep changing.
We humans live our life
We get old.
Need to accept the changes

Yes dear.
This is bitter but true.
Thank you so much for reminding.
