# The Threads of Trust#

This poem explores the pain of broken trust and the feeling of isolation that can arise within families. It grapples with the disillusionment of realizing love, unlike fruit, can sour with time.

Yet, a flicker of hope remains, yearning for reconciliation and the rekindling of the love that once bloomed.

The Threads of Trust

With every tick, a trust betrays,

Loved ones distant, in a cold, hard maze.

Each breath a pang, a heart in strife,

Lost in darkness, adrift in life.

Grandpa’s wisdom, once a guiding light,

“Fruits grow sweet,” he’d say, with gentle might.

But humans, unlike nature’s art,

Turns bitter with time, a twisted part.

Those who nurtured, with love so deep,

Whose shade once sheltered, once we sleep,

Strangers stand, where warmth did bloom,

Alone we wander, in love’s empty room.

Is this the path love’s journey takes?

Is this the bond our future makes?

Where’s the laughter, the hand in hand,

The whispers shared in this barren land?

Tears welling up, at faces worn,

Aching to hold them, a plea reborn.

“Forgive us, please,” the words unspoken,

Will these wounds heal, once trust is broken?

But hope remains, a flickering flame,

For love’s return, to whisper your name.

One day they’ll see the hurt you bear,

Feel the love you offer, a love to share.
