A Bird’s Dream

My heart is like a bird,

It wants to fly high and high

It wants to touch the sky,

It wants to be free and cry.

But the sky is too high,

And the bird is too small to fly high

The bird can never reach the sky,

And the sky can never that try.

So, the bird flies and flies,

But it never reaches its destination.

And the sky remains out of reach,

This remains a tantalizing dream.

The bird is the human soul,

And the sky is our God.

The human soul can never reach God,

 But it can never stop trying and trying.

The journey is the destination,

And the search is the reward.

The soul, a bird on an endless quest,

For God’s embrace, it finds no rest.
