A Beautiful Story
In the heart of a bustling city, there lived a young boy of around ten years old who earning his livelihood by selling newspapers. Each morning, he could be seen standing outside the gate of a grand residence, ringing the doorbell with the hope of selling a newspaper or two.
However, on this particular day, it appeared that the newspapers had not been printed due to holiday.
The mistress was kind hearted
The mistress of the house, a woman known for her kind heart, emerged from the doorway and inquired, “What can I do for you, my child?”
The boy, his eyes brimming with hope, asked, “Ma’am, may I clean your garden for you?”
The mistress hesitated momentarily before responding, “No, we don’t require that service.”
With a touch of desperation in his voice, the boy folded his hands and pleaded, “Please, ma’am, I promise to do a thorough job.”
Moved by the sincerity in his eyes, the mistress finally relented, “Very well, how much will you charge for your service?”
The boy replied, “No payment required, ma’am. Just some food would be greatly appreciated.”

The mistress realizes the Boy’s Hunger
The mistress’s heart went out to the boy as she realized his hunger. She said, “Oh dear! Come inside, and I will prepare something for you to eat.”
It was evident that the boy was famished, and the mistress couldn’t bear to see him go hungry. She thought to herself, “I should feed him first; work can wait.”
The mistress instructed, “Young Boy, please eat first, and afterward, you can commence your work.”
But the boy insisted, “No, ma’am, let me work first, and then you can provide me with food.”
The mistress agreed, and the boy diligently set about his task in the garden. An hour passed, and the boy returned to the mistress, saying, “Ma’am, please inspect the garden to ensure it meets your expectations.”
With astonishment, the mistress exclaimed, “Remarkable! You’ve done an outstanding job. You’ve even arranged the potted plants so neatly. Please, have a seat; I will bring you some food.”
As she served him food, the boy took out a small plastic pouch from his pocket and carefully placed a portion of the meal inside it.
Curious, the homeowner asked, “Why are you packing some of the food?”
The boy replied, “No, Aunty, it’s not for me. My mother is sick at home. We got medicine from the government hospital, but the doctor said she should eat something before taking the medicine.”

Touched by his selflessness, the homeowner couldn’t hold back her tears. She hugged the boy and fed him with even more care.
the mistress cooked rotis for the boy’s family
Later that day, the homeowner cooked rotis for the boy’s family and personally delivered them to his home. She told the boy’s mother, “You are lucky to have such a kind-hearted son. The money I have given to my child is not as valuable as the goodness in his heart.
This heartwarming story reminds us of the power of kindness and empathy. The young boy’s selflessness and willingness to work before eating touched the homeowner’s heart and ultimately led to a beautiful bond of compassion between two families.
It serves as a poignant reminder that small acts of kindness can have a profound impact on the lives of others. It is truly said that true wealth lies not in material possessions but in the goodness of one’s heart.

That is a great story about kindness both from the lady wanting to help the boy and the boy wanting to make sure to do the work first and saving some food in his pouch for his mom.
