“Unburdened Identity”

This is a heartfelt poem that explores the beauty and strength of embracing one’s true self, unencumbered by societal expectations and material possessions.

It delves into the notion that true identity lies beyond superficial attributes and societal divisions, highlighting the power of self-acceptance and contentment.

The poem celebrates the unique essence of each individual, reminding us that our worth is not determined by external factors, but by the authenticity and pride we hold within.

#Unburdened Identity#

In a world of sorrow and despair,

Where hearts are burdened and souls are bare,

I stand here with a heavy heart,

Longing to find a brand new start.

I am not like the rest, it’s true,

I don’t possess what they pursue.

But I wear my flaws with dignity,

For they’re a part of the real me.

My eyes may not be a striking hue,

My hair may lack that lustrous view,

But I embrace the way I appear,

For it’s the hand of God, I hold dear.

I’m neither Hindu, Muslim, nor Sikh,

Nor Christian, Buddhist, or Greek.

For in my eyes, we are all the same,

No label defines our worth or name.

I’m not a warrior, nor a deceitful soul,

Not a puppet for power to control.

I won’t be a partner to their wicked schemes,

For my integrity, I hold in high esteem.

No, I am not ashamed, I am proud,

For this life, my voice, I have vowed.

In embracing my true self, I find peace,

For that is the essence of my release.
