#Enjoying Open Air Gym#

Friends,

Now a days,  I am staying in sector 37, Noida in Delhi. I have a habit of doing a morning walk every day.

So, this morning, I was looking for a park for a morning walk near my house.  After traveling a little distance, I found a beautiful park, and I entered there. It was six o’clock in the morning.

It surprised me to see that this park has an open-air gym as well. It was a matter of curiosity for me. There were so many old and young ones, Ladies & Gents, those were doing Gym there.

In our society, there is an indoor Gym in Kolkata that I used regularly there.

But, this type of open-air Gym surprised me as it has more benefits than indoor.

I think this type of diverse outdoor recreation system contributes to our community by providing a high quality of life for residents. With increasing urbanization, communities are continuously seeking new ways to provide outdoor spaces and activities to residents, and outdoor exercise is one ideal option.

I was in Sector 37, Noida and this park allowed us to exercise while enjoying natural and designed landscapes in an open-air environment.

BENEFITS OF OPEN GYM

It is a fact that exercising outdoors provides all the physical benefits of indoor exercise and can also provide vital exposure to sunlight that increases important levels of vitamin D, unlike indoor practice.

According to a 2015 study by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, about 80% of people in north India suffer from symptoms linked to Vitamin D deficiency. Lack of exposure to sunlight because of indoor work culture is a leading cause of vitamin D deficiency among many working professionals.

Additional benefits like fresh air and Sunlight

Open-air gyms in the Noida area have given people an option to work out in the open and soak in the sunlight. Here’s why it might be a good idea for all of us to supplement our regular workouts with sessions in these open gyms.

Yes, whatever category you fit in, there are proven benefits to exercising outside in the open air.

  • While exercising in an indoor gym makes workouts a pleasant experience, the open gym may have some additional benefits like fresh and natural air that helps in better lung oxygenation and also intake of Vitamin D which is again helpful in preventing heart diseases.
  • Regular physical activity can improve muscle strength and boost our endurance. Open-air exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lung health improve, you have more energy to tackle daily chores.

Make Exercise Fun

The addition of nature and fresh air help make exercising fun and therefore more effective. Combining outdoor exercise, natural light, and sensory stimulation can reduce stress and encourage healthy behaviors.

Our young generation spends nearly 12 hours in the office every day without any exposure to sunlight. By using this facility 0f the open-air gym, overall health will definitely improve.

They can have the opportunity to regular working out in the fresh air gym which is nearby and free of cost.

Working out in fresh air helps in regulating sleep patterns:

Apart from Vitamin D deficiency, staying indoors for long hours also attributes to sleep deprivation. One resident said that working out in open-air gyms makes him sleep better than before.

After an air-conditioned environment the whole day long and going to an open-air gym is a refreshing break for them

Are Available to Everyone :

Though there are numerous indoor fitness options, they can be costly and inconvenient. But, an open-air Gym can remove these barriers, which is especially attractive in lower-income neighborhoods.

By increasing the number of Open-air gyms,  especially in underserved communities, there is an increased likelihood of creating positive change in overall fitness and health.

Open Air Gyms are Eco-friendly

Equipment used in Open air Gym requires no electricity, is low maintenance, and uses very little human resources.

A majority of the materials used in their construction, including aluminum, steel, and sustainable plastics, are recyclable as well.

Promote Friendships

People who use these  Parks often socialize while exercising, strengthening community and interpersonal relationships. These relationships may then support increased use as participants more readily interact with each other, offering encouragement, motivation, and support.

Friends,

With the onset of winter,  It is likely more people prefer working out in open-air gyms during the early hours and late evenings including me.

  1. I wish we had those here. When I used to live in Germany, we had “Fitness Wald” (translates to fitness forest), where they created a variety of stations out of wood for different types of exercise. It was built along a path meant to hike, but you could also stop along the way at the stations to do extra exercise.

  4. Open air gym is a new trend that I see for the last 5 to 10 years in various cities like Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune etc not only in gardens, but also on roadsides (footpaths). That shows that even local governments have become health conscious.

  5. There is an open gym in my local park here in Glasgow. You can actually see the indoor gym from the outdoor one as its on the edge of the park. I’ve seen personal trainers from the gym using the outdoor gym with their clients.

Although it’s a good idea, but people use them in a wrong manner.
Doing these exercises wrong could lead to an injury.
