I am always dreaming of traveling to unknown places because I love traveling and walking toward the unknown. Travelling allows us to really take our time and experience people and that new places. I could not get enough opportunities to visit new places because of the paucity of time during my professional life. Now I am retired and have time to relax and enjoy traveling to unknown locations.
A few months back, I got an opportunity to visit Vishakapatnam, which is called the City of Destiny with my family, especially my Granddaughter. We always enjoy together the sight scene of new places.
Vizag is the capital of Andhra Pradesh dotted with several sea beaches, hence it is called the Jewel of the East Coast.

Day One: Rishikanda beach
I had only three days to see the different places there. So, First, we decided to visit Rishikanda beach, which was a lovely place and it surprised me to see the cleanliness and maintenance.
I got the feeling of Goa Beach. People had a couple of activities to explore like Speed boats, Jet ski rides, and kayaking. As this was my first experience visiting Vizag, really it was exceptional.
With the soothing blowing of the wind and some fishermen getting ready to go into the ocean for fishing, the scene was outstanding. We enjoy that moment with family and enjoyed the hobby of Photography..
After spending some time at the beach, we moved to a nearby park called KAILASHGIRI which is on the hill station. There is an eye-catching huge holy statue of Bhagawan Shiva and Goddess Parvathi..
Shiva and Goddess Darshan

It is a wonderful tourist place with pristine beauty. It is spread over an area of 380 acres of land covered with exciting landscape gardens comprising rich flora and tropical trees.
The Government of Andhra Pradesh awarded Kailasagiri as “the Best Tourist Spot” in 2003. All means of transport are well connected to the hilltop. It was reported that on average, three lakh Indian and foreign tourists visit the park every year.
I came to know that VMRDA has declared this hill station a plastic-free zone, to protect the environment. Yes, it is a praiseworthy step.
A cable car connects to the top of the hill, the first of its kind in Andhra Pradesh and we got the opportunity to enjoy the drive.
This hilltop has many wonderful attractions such as the Titanic viewpoint, floral clock, Shanku-Chakra Namas of Bhagawan Venkateswara of Tirupati, gliding points, delicious food courts, etc.
Beautiful floral clock
we found the floral clock which is one of the biggest in India with a diameter of 10 feet. There is a Shanti Ashram on the top of the hill, where one can get huge peace by spending time in meditation. They have developed several wonderful viewpoints all around the hilltop.

It had a ropeway and toy train facility to see the beautiful view of Vizag city. After reaching there, we saw two amazing scenes,
While moving by train we observed on one side the endless ocean with blue water and another side was the beautiful Vizag city. The time was 5.40 pm when enjoyed riding the train and from there we saw a beautiful view of the city.
We observed that altogether five coaches were attached to the train engine. Out of these, there were three non-AC coaches and two were AC coaches, but all had only chaired cars. Each coach can accommodate 50 people. And the journey period was 20 minutes.
It is obvious that every after 20 minutes new people could board the train. They informed me that they operated the train under the banner of ‘Sarada Roadways Kailasagiri Hills Tour. We had a splendid memory of this beautiful place

Beautiful Yarada Beach
The next spot was Yarada Beach. This beach was 22 km from my hotel in Vizag city. On the morning of the second day, we hired a taxi which took around 40 minutes to reach Yarada Beach. Really that was a lovely beach, very neat and clean, well maintained, and surrounded by hills (Eastern Ghats Range) making the place most beautiful and enjoyable.
I also enjoyed watching Paragliding’s adventurous events here. We have clicked some beautiful photographs of paragliders there.

Our next stop was Dolphins Nose. It was also a wonderful spot also known as Light House near Yarada beach. This hill is in the shape of a dolphin. That is why it is called Dolphine Nose.
Climbing up in the light house through quite narrow stairs with too much crowd became this adventurous at the height of 178 meters. we had a view of full greenery all around the beautiful beach.
INS Kurusura Submarine Museum
I also got the opportunity to visit INS Kurusura Submarine Museum and saw the inside of a submarine that is out of service.
The authority has kept a Submarine with some suitable modifications on the beach road side that allow visits by the public.
It thrilled me to see practically the function of the submarine with an explanation from the authorities present there.
The aircraft museum is also located opposite the submarine museum. This place had a well-guided tour,. The TU142 aircraft gave a view of the inside of the aircraft with its original settings. It thrilled me to see the inside of the actual aircraft which was also very informative.
On the next day, It was scheduled to visit Araku Valley (situated at the height of 3000 ft above sea level) by car covering a distance of 112 km from my hotel,
After getting up early in the morning we started our journey by taxi. On the way, we experienced beautiful scenic views and beautiful greenery on both sides of the road before reaching Araku Valley,.

Really it was a most memorable trip I also visited Padmapuram Garden, Tribal Museum, and Coffee museum. And there are Borra Caves which were exquisite and amazing.
I enjoyed very much this super place. We also enjoyed special food like world-famous bamboo chicken and boiled sweet corn.
I think one should visit this beautiful place whenever get leisure time.
