Friends,
Today’s morning was pleasant as a chilly breeze was flowing. In fact, there was rain at midnight that drop the temperature up to that level. I was feeling a bit laziness. It was 6 o’clock in the morning, and despite that, I was sleeping because of the pleasant feeling after a long time.
Suddenly a lot of pigeons came to the window and started making noise – Guntur-Gu, Guntur-Gu..
Actually, I give food and water to the pigeons in the morning and it was time for them to feed. That’s why I had to leave the bed unwillingly. After serving food to the birds, I had to leave the house for a morning walk.

It was cloudy weather, and I read my watch at exactly 7 o’clock in the morning. As soon as I reached the park, suddenly the rain started soaking my body. My mind, too, was appeasing.
Yes, there was a pleasant experience of the first rain of the monsoon.
This was the first drizzling of the monsoon as the rain was very much needed to get rid of the scorching heat.
That’s why I was feeling thrilled seeing the rain. To keep safe from rainwater, I went under the cover of a tree. There were yellow and red flowers blooming on the tree, presenting an exquisite sight. After a while, the rain stopped. I was on the walking track doing brisk walking.

Suddenly I saw Nemi Chand Ji sitting in the park near the footpath. He is 106 years of age, Although he was looking weak because of old age, still sitting gracefully there on the pathway busy reading something a spiritual book.
I have an emotional attachment to him as he is the eldest person in our society. I just came near him and said — hello Sir, How are you ?
With a sweet smile, he replied, — I am fine, dear, what about you?
I sit near him and asked – What are you reading here?
He said— this is our holy book, Geeta. I am enjoying the spiritual journey of life.
But where are your spectacles?
I don’t need spectacles for reading books or newspapers.
I was very much surprised by his words. Can a man of 106 years of age read a book so fluently without spectacle?
I could not believe that, but he made me astonished by reading that book fluently without any spectacle. Really it was a matter of surprise that till this age he has never used power glass.
I just wanted to know the secret of their healthy Eyes. He has shared some tips to keep our eyes healthy.
Your eyes are an important part of your health. we have to rely on our eyes to see this beautiful world. There are some eye diseases that can lead to vision loss. So it is important to get checked up on your eyes along with your health check-up. It is important to keep your body healthy, you also need to keep your eyes healthy.
Eating a healthy and balanced diet.
Your diet should include plenty of fruits and vegetables, especially deep yellow and green leafy vegetables. Nutrients like omega -3 fatty acids, lutein, zinc, and vitamins C and E are useful.
Eating fish high in omega-3 fatty acids such as Salmon, Tuna, & eggs, nuts beans, and other non-meat proteins can also help your eyes.

No Smoking Please
Smoke may make you more likely to get cataracts, damage to your optic nerve, and muscular degeneration among many other medical problems. It is better to avoid smoking and if you are a habitual smoker, try to quit as soon as possible.
Give your eyes a rest.
If you spend a lot of time using a computer or mobile, you can forget to blink your eyes and your eyes can get tired. That may cause Eye strain, Blurry vision, Trouble focusing at a distance, Dry eyes, Headaches, Neck, back, and shoulder pain.
To reduce eye strain, try the 20-20-20 rule: Rest your eyes every 20 minutes, and look 20 feet away for 20 seconds. Get up from your seat at least every 2 hours and take a 15-minute break. Yoga is also helpful to reduce neck & shoulder pain.

Get regular exercise.
Exercise may help to prevent or control diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. These diseases can lead to some eye or vision problems. So if you exercise regularly, you can lower your risk of getting these eye and vision problems.
Wear sunglasses.
Sun exposure can damage your eyes and raise your risk of cataracts and age-related macular degeneration. Protect your eyes by using sunglasses that block out 99 to 100% of both UV-A and UV-B radiation.
Get enough sleep.
Just like the rest of your body, your eyes need to recharge too, and this happens while you sleep. So make sure that you get sufficient shut-eye each day to keep your eyes revitalized and healthy.

Stay hydrated.
Sufficient fluid intake is essential to your body’s overall wellbeing, including the eyes. If you’re hydrated enough, you prevent your eyes from getting dry and irritated.
Visit Your Eye Doctor Regularly
Everyone needs a regular eye check-up, even young children. We feel air pollution all around, which is affecting our eyes as well. It is necessary to protect your sight and find a doctor to get protected against eye diseases, like glaucoma. It’s important to spot them early to get treatment in time.
Don’t rub your eyes.
The hands are exposed to a lot of dirt, dust, and bacteria, and all of these can be easily transmitted to your eyes each time you touch or rub them. So avoid putting your hands to your eyes to prevent infection and irritation.
If the habit is so ingrained in you, make an effort to get rid of it as soon as possible. Also practice regular hand washing to keep bacteria at bay and prevent them from getting in contact with your eyes, eyeglasses, and contact lenses.

Keep your surroundings clean.
As we know that exposure to dirt and dust can irritate our eyes, so we should be careful that the places where we work or live should be maintained and clean. The linens and towels that we use should be regularly clean and the workstation clutter-free.
Note – This is just for knowledge purposes. Please contact doctors for your eye problems and follow their advice. (Pic source: Google.com)
