Dear friends ,
We are going to celebrate the festival of Holi today .
On this occasion, we wish that colors of happiness and joy are the most beautiful colors of life, they stay forever in your life .
Holi is a popular Hindu festival. We also known this festival as the Festival of Love, the Festival of Colors, or the Festival of Spring.
This festival also celebrates the eternal and divine love of Radha Krishna.
It also signifies the triumph of good over evil, as it celebrates the victory of Lord Vishnu as Narasimha Narayana over Hiranyakashipu.
It originated and is predominantly celebrated on the Indian subcontinent, but now it has also spread to other regions of Asia and parts of the Western world wherever Hindus are living.
festival of colors
We also celebrate Holi as the mark of spring, the end of winter, and the blossoming of love. We meet our friends & relatives, celebrate Holi with colors and share happiness. It is an important day of our life as it gives an opportunity to forget and forgive the ill feelings, and repair our broken relationships.
Holi lasts for two days. Starting the first evening as Holika Dahan (burning of Demon Holika) or Chhoti Holi .
The next morning, we celebrate as Rangwali Holi (Dhuleti) – a free-for-all festival of colors where people smear each other with colors and drench each other. Water guns and water-filled balloons are also used to play and color each other.
Anyone and everyone is fair game, friend or stranger, rich or poor, man or woman, children, and elders. The frolic and fight with colors occurs in the open streets, parks, outside temples and buildings.
Groups carry drums and other musical instruments, go from place to place, sing and dance. People visit family, friends and foes come together to throw coloured powders on each other, laugh and gossip, then share Holi delicacies, food and drinks In the evening, people dress up and visit friends and family.
Iloji – Holika love story
Friends,
Today is Holika Dahan, and on this occasion , I would like to share a beautiful love story of Iloji – Holika .
Although we know Holika as a villain, but in Himachal Pradesh region , the grief of Holika’s sad love story is prevalent among the people.
According to the story, Holika appears to be a helpless lover, who embraced her death for the sake of meeting her beloved Iloji.
Hiranyakashipu’s sister Holika’s marriage has already been fixed with Iloji. The date of marriage turned out to be Poornima.
On the other hand, the devotion of his son, Prahlad, to God Vishnu frustrated Hiranyakashipu. He was so angry that once he accepted the son’s sacrifice.
When he proposed this in front of sister Holika, Holika flatly refused to do so .
Then, Hiranyakashipu threatened to disturb her marriage with his lover, Iloji.
Being helpless, Holika unwillingly agreed with her brother. He agreed to sit in the fire with Prahlad . Since she was a worshiper of fire, she had no fear of fire.
The same day was also the date of Holika’s marriage. Unaware of all this incidence, Eloji was bringing the marriage procession . But by then Holika was burnt to ashes herself in an attempt to burn Prahlad . Prahalad had a blessing of God, Vishnu.
By the time Iloji arrived with the procession, Holika’s body had been destroyed in the fire.
Iloji could not bear the pain after seeing all this. With this grief, he also jumped into that fire. But by then, the fire was extinguished, and he could not burn himself in this fire.
Iloji lost his mental balance while burning in the fire of Birah. They started throwing ashes and sticks on the people. He spent his whole life in the same condition of madness.
The love story of Holika-Iloji is still remembered by some parts of the country, especially the people of Himachal Pradesh.
We distribute Happiness
Friends,
even though the circumstances have changed in today’s time, the spirit behind celebrating this festival has not changed. Our feelings is to share happiness among all of us,
Celebrating the festival with a true heart by rising above the distinction of high and low, caste and religion.
We distribute happiness among all so that our society and country can be happy and mutual relations can be strengthened, mutual brotherhood can always be maintained.

The story of Holika and her marriage was really new to me. Always thought of her as an evil aunt who was willing to hurt her nephew. But this story gave a new angle to her.
