# Two Shades Within Me #

This poem reflects the dual nature of every person. One side represents hope, kindness, and strength, while the other holds pain, doubt, and unhealed wounds. Both joy and sorrow influence our character and life path.

This poem examines the balance between light and shadow, reminding us that real growth involves accepting all parts of ourselves.

# Two Shades Within Me #

I walk through life with two shades inside,
One I reveal, one I try to hide.
One is gentle, honest, and kind,
the other bears storms within its mind.

One loves freely, asking nothing in return,
One carries wounds that still quietly burn.
One trusts the world with an open heart,
One fears the pain and bears always hurt.

Sometimes I laugh to keep one alive,
While the other struggles just to survive.
They whisper softly, night and day,
And pull my weary heart their way.

Through Journey of Life, I’ve come to know,
Both shades have helped me learn and grow.
One seeks wisdom, peace, and grace,
One still runs in life’s endless race.

Life has taught me a curious art—
How to heal the broken heart.
I’ve left the honey upon the shelf,
And tasted bitterness myself.

So if you see me smile today,
Know shadows never fade away.
These two shades never drift apart.
They shape the story of my heart.

    • Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate you taking the time to read and reflect on the poem.

I’m glad it resonated with you in a universal way—that was exactly the intention, to touch something that feels true for many of us, beyond individual experience. Your thoughtful response adds even more meaning to it.

  2. Beautifully written Verma ji. 🌿✨
What touched me most is that the poem doesn’t choose between light and shadow it embraces both. The reminder that our wounds and our wisdom, our struggles and our strength, all contribute to who we become is both honest and deeply human.
A thoughtful reflection on self-acceptance and growth. 💙✨

    • Thank you so much for your beautiful and thoughtful reflection.

You’ve captured the essence of it so well—the idea that light and shadow don’t stand in opposition, but instead coexist and shape who we are becoming. I’m truly glad the poem resonated with you in that way.

  6. Beautiful poem, Verma. Human nature is so complicated because of the amount of weight we carry. Huamnity carries many wounds, scars, and stories; you’ve captured our complexity so well.

    • Thank you so much for this thoughtful reflection. You’ve put it beautifully—there really is so much invisible weight people carry, and it shapes the way we think, feel, and connect with the world.

I’m glad the poem resonated with you. Sometimes simply acknowledging that shared complexity is the first step toward a little more understanding and kindness—both toward others and ourselves.
