# The Energy Within #

This poem highlights the main sources of human energy — gratitude, purpose, love, and positivity. It reminds us that true strength comes not from resting all the time, but from a calm mind, meaningful work, and a joyful heart that shines even in life’s busiest times.

The Energy Within

People often ask with gentle surprise,
“How do you stay bright beneath busy skies?”
I simply smile and quietly say,
“I carry a little sunshine each day.”

I gather strength from morning air,
From hopeful thoughts and heartfelt care.
From work I love, from words sincere,
From holding faith instead of fear.

The body may tire, the feet may slow,
But peaceful hearts continue to glow.
For energy is not found outside—
It lives where gratitude and joy reside.

Like a lamp that shines through darkest night,
The soul grows stronger while giving light.
And I have learned, both old and new:
The more love we share, the more we renew.

  3. Another good example of “If you change your thoughts, you will change your world.” Too many folks can never get out of their own heads and never take that first step to change the way they react to the world. Happy Sunday. Allan

    • Very true, Allan.
Our thoughts shape so much of how we experience life. Sometimes the hardest step isn’t changing the world around us, but changing the way we see and respond to it. Fear, doubt, and habit can keep people standing still for years, even when the door to change is right in front of them.

    • Thank you , dear. 😊
You are absolutely right — the deepest strength and energy always come from within us. External things may inspire us for a while, but inner positivity, hope, and courage are what truly keep us moving forward.

  6. I know little of poetry however this resonates and the last line lingers

    • That means a lot to me. Poetry doesn’t ask us to be experts—only to feel something. If the last line stayed with you for a while, then the poem found its way exactly where it needed to. Thank you for reading so thoughtfully. 🌿
