# Under the Spreading Tree #

This poem shows a girl happily reading under a tree on a sunny day. Her dress and hat match the beauty around her as her imagination soars with each page.
It highlights the quiet adventures and dreams found in books and nature.

# Under the Spreading Tree #

A girl in green, beneath a tree,
With a purple hat, so wild and free.
She reads a book, her mind takes flight,
In gentle shade, in soft sunlight.

The breeze around begins to play,
Green grass whispers words away.
Her stories grow as branches bend,
Adventure waits around each end.

With every page, her dreams arise,
Her wishes soaring to the skies.
She journeys far, though sitting still,
Her heart explores with hope and will.

Beneath the tree, she sits so wise,
A world inside each tale she tries.
Her laughter makes the branches sway,
With colored smiles, she lights her day.

  2. This took me back to a slower time. That quiet moment under a tree, with a book, feels almost rare now. You’ve captured something gentle but powerful… how imagination can travel farther than our feet ever do.

    • That means so much… thank you. 🌿

I was hoping it would carry that feeling—a quiet pause, where time slows down and the world softens a little. It’s beautiful how you described it… that sense of stillness, and how imagination quietly takes you farther than any journey ever could.

I’m really glad it took you there.

    • Thank you so much for your kind words. 🤍

I’m really glad the poem’s connection with nature and beauty spoke to you. Nature has its own quiet language—it reflects emotions, memories, and meanings in the most effortless way, and poetry simply tries to listen to it.

  6. If Buddha were a Gen Z girl, this would be him…errr her. What’s with sitting under the tree that nourishes wisdom? Hmmm I should find a tree to sit under. Should it be a bodhi tree or any tall and leafy one will do?

    • Haha, I get the vibe you’re going for 😄
But the “tree under which wisdom happens” idea is less about a specific botanical requirement and more about what it represents: stillness, space, and uninterrupted attention. The bodhi tree in Buddhist tradition is symbolic because it marks a point of deep awareness—not because the tree itself has special properties.
