# Be Yourself #

This poem is a gentle reminder to embrace who you are, even when it feels uncomfortable or lonely.

It speaks to the quiet courage it takes to stay true to yourself in a world that often rewards sameness.

# Be Yourself #

Don’t be scared of being new,
Be scared of losing part of you.
You weren’t made to hide or stay
In someone else’s copied way.

Your voice is special, clear, bright,
It shines its own warm, honest light.
Walk your road, even alone,
Strong seeds grow best when self-grown.

They may laugh, they may not see,
That’s okay—just still be you.
Stars don’t fear the dark at night,
They sparkle more to share their light.

So trust yourself in all you do,
The world needs more of real you.
You weren’t made to just repeat—
You were made to be complete.

  2. This is truly beautiful, Verma ji. You have captured the very essence of self-acceptance and authenticity with such gentle, powerful clarity. The comparison of a person’s unique voice to a “warm, honest light” and the imagery of stars sparkling more in the darkness are particularly moving. It’s a poem that doesn’t just advise, but genuinely comforts and empowers. Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece of wisdom—it’s a message the world needs to hear, and you’ve expressed it perfectly.

    • That truly means a lot—thank you for reading the poem with such care and feeling. Your words reflect exactly what the poem hoped to offer: comfort, reassurance, and quiet strength. Knowing that the imagery and message resonated with you so deeply is incredibly heartening.

Self-acceptance is a gentle journey, and if these lines could offer even a small moment of warmth or courage, then they’ve done their job. I’m grateful for your kindness and for sharing such thoughtful reflections. Messages like yours remind me why words matter—and why authenticity, in all its forms, is always worth celebrating. 🌟

  3. A good practice. Too many people try to mimic others in fashion, deeds or action and they lose themselves to a trend WE are all unique, we are all special and we all have a story. We should not try to make it match the popular story of the day. Others do not have to like you, but you have to like yourself. Have a good day. Allan

    • Thank you, Allan—this is such a thoughtful and grounding reflection.
You’re absolutely right: when we chase trends or try to mirror others, it’s easy to lose sight of our own story.
There’s real strength in choosing authenticity over approval, and real peace in liking yourself even when others don’t quite “get” you.
That kind of self-respect never goes out of style. Wishing you a wonderful day as well.

  4. This felt very you. Simple, direct, no drama.

I like how it doesn’t try to hype individuality like a slogan, it just says stay with yourself, even if it’s lonely or awkward sometimes. That line about walking your own road alone is real life, not poetry talk.

Quiet reminder, but a strong one.

    • Thank you! I’m glad it resonated with you. 😊
That was exactly what I hoped for—a gentle nudge to honor our own path without needing applause or validation.
Sometimes the quiet, simple reminders are the ones that stick the longest.
Walking your own road, even alone, really is real life—and real life can be its own kind of poetry.

    • Thank you—that means a great deal. You’ve summed it up perfectly: real courage isn’t loud or showy, it’s the quiet choice to stay true to yourself, even when the path feels uncertain or lonely. I’m really glad it resonated with you.
