# A World of Mine #

Sometimes, we reach a point in life where our shelves are full — of dreams, memories, and accomplishments — yet a quiet emptiness lingers.

This poem is a reflection on that gentle ache — the search for meaning, simplicity, and the courage to dream anew.

A World of Mine

I have everything—
Yet I live with the quiet fear of losing it.
The shelves are full,
lined with the shapes of my dreams,
still waiting to breathe.

And yet,
something thirsts within me—
a feeling I can’t name,
a silence tugging softly
at the edges of my laughter.

What is it that I’ve lost?
Perhaps a dream I forgot to chase,
a thought that once bloomed
in every story that I groomed.

I’ve found meaning
in this slow, tender dawn,
and peace
in simply breathing.

Now I measure time
not by what slips away,
but by what I’ve grown,
by what I’ve learned to hold.

Still, somewhere deep,
I feel the echo of something missing—
a connection unseen,
a memory unnamed,
a heartbeat out of reach.

Still, I keep searching—
for value, simplicity, and light,
for the child within my dreams,
to build a world that feels just right.

  2. Your poem, “A World of Mine,” is a truly beautiful and poignant reflection on a feeling I think many people share but struggle to articulate.
It captures that profound, gentle ache that can exist even amidst abundance. The lines, “The shelves are full, / lined with the shapes of my dreams, / still waiting to breathe,” are incredibly powerful, suggesting that accomplishment isn’t the same as fulfillment, and that some of our most cherished hopes can feel inert until we give them breath.
I especially loved the shift in the final stanzas—the turn from questioning what is lost to valuing what is grown and what is held. It’s a testament to finding meaning in the present (“in this slow, tender dawn, / and peace / in simply breathing”).
Yet, the poem is so honest in its conclusion—that the search continues for “simplicity, and light,” and for the courage to connect with the pure vision of “the child within my dreams.” Thank you for sharing Verma ji 🤝🌷

    • That’s such a heartfelt and thoughtful reflection—thank you so much for reading it so deeply 🤝✨.
I’m truly touched by your understanding of the poem’s essence. You captured it beautifully—the quiet ache that lives even in moments of fullness, and the tender pursuit of meaning in the ordinary.

Yes, sometimes the truest peace comes not from what we achieve, but from learning to breathe within the journey itself.
I’m so grateful for your kind words and the way you connected with the spirit of “A World of Mine.” 🌿

    • Thank you for sharing your message. However, I prefer to focus on personal growth, positivity, and creativity through open and authentic means.
True enlightenment, I believe, comes from self-awareness, compassion, and continuous learning — not from secrecy, but from shared understanding and light. ✨

  5. I got a sense we as humans never get used to anything. There is always something else out there. You can’t put your finger on it. The world is such an imperfect place and it goes to the theory of the more we know the more we know we don’t know.

    The universe expands accordingly.

    • That’s such a profound reflection — beautifully said. 🌌
You’ve captured the very essence of human restlessness and wonder. It’s true — the more we uncover, the more we realize how vast and mysterious existence truly is.

Perhaps that’s the beauty of it: our curiosity keeps the universe alive within us, always expanding, always unfolding new layers of understanding.
Your words are a gentle reminder that imperfection and uncertainty are not flaws, but the pulse of discovery itself. ✨

  7. So much to ponder and reflect upon , there is much to say about having nothing and losing it all and finding yourself in it.. with it all we reflect upon that, without it all we reflect within. I’ve been both places, lost it all in a fire, lost it all again when my son got cancer.. literally ALL.. even my car, all things take time to start again but the best part was experiencing myself without it all, and seeing a part of me I never would have , because losing it all isn’t usually something planned and in that there is a special gift received when you stand there saying goodbye to it all and your still standing. Beautiful poem!
