“Colours of My Heart”
—For my beloved granddaughter

# Colours of My Heart #

A splash of pink, a dash of gold,
In your tiny palms, my world I hold.
With every hue upon our face,
You paint my soul with boundless grace.

Your laughter rings like morning song,
Where I—once tired— now belong.
A simple hat upon your head,
Yet royal dreams by you are led.

Your eyes—two stars in skies so near,
Reflect my joy, erase my fear.
Each smear of color, bold and bright,
Turns fading years to pure delight.

O little one, in you I see,
A future blooming wild and free.
But in this moment, here you stand,
My sunshine wrapped in a tiny hand.

The world may spin, the time may race,
But always I will guard your grace.
For every Holi, year by year,
You’ll find me smiling—always near.

So wear your colors proud and high,
Dance like spring across the sky.
You are the canvas of my soul,
The joy that makes this old heart whole.

🪔 To the little soul who colors my days with magic—
Thank you for being the brightest shade in my life.
🌈

  2. That’s absolutely beautiful and so felt, I live my grandchildren so much and it’s always a gift of love and insights when in their presence and a reminder how fortunate I am to have had 4 children that have brought 6 beautiful people to share the world in such a profound way. What a gift you have.

      • It comes with a lot of lessons that’s forsure.. our grown up children seem to come and go as they grow and evolve and allowing ourselves to not take it personal and observe the changes and respect space and places and distance and divides , even misunderstandings and allow them to find themselves within the truth without defending, arguing and shaming but instead often loving from a distance while feeling the growth pains and learning they are only with us for a short time sometimes and those moments are always treasured and the rest is bonus when allowed but never expected only received when given freely. Grandkids are the gift the journey gifts you for showing up, they are the light that shines on it all.
