# What Topics Light You Up?

Daily writing prompt
What topics do you like to discuss?

Hello dear friends,

I hope this blog finds you in a cheerful mood. Today, I’m diving into a topic that made me smile the moment I read it: “What topics do you like to discuss?”

At first glance, it seems like a simple question. But the more I reflected on it, the more it opened a window into the soul.

After all, the topics we enjoy discussing often reveal what truly moves us, what excites our minds, and what nurtures our spirits.

Some people like to talk about politics or current affairs. Others are passionate about sports, cinema, or stock markets.

For me, the conversations I cherish are those that touch the heart and stir the soul.

I love to discuss creativity, personal growth, meaningful relationships, and yes, even the mysteries of the universe.

Whether it’s a poem that quietly reveals a forgotten emotion or a painting that speaks a thousand unsaid words, these are the dialogues I treasure.

When I sit with a cup of green tea in hand, my favourite topics come alive like old friends—kind, familiar, and always comforting.

One of my favourite topics is art and creativity. After retirement, I discovered a whole new world of colours and canvas.

From abstract expressions to the joy of shaping emotions into poetry, I love discussing how creativity helps us process life.

Why do we create? Is it to express joy? To soothe pain? Or simply to celebrate being alive?

When I share my thoughts with fellow artists or bloggers, I feel a beautiful connection.

Creativity, after all, is not just a hobby. It’s a way of life. It’s our rebellion against boredom and our celebration of imagination.

Another topic I’m deeply fond of is self-improvement and mindfulness. I love discussing how small habits—like morning journaling, gratitude, or simply taking a walk in nature—can change the course of a day or even a lifetime.

I believe we all carry within us a quiet intelligence, waiting to blossom. When we talk about how to live better, love deeper, and stay calmer, we’re not just sharing knowledge—we’re co-creating wisdom.

One of my favourite quotes comes to mind here:
“Speak only if it improves upon the silence.”
That’s what I strive for in my conversations—depth, clarity, and a spark of inspiration.

You know what else I adore talking about? Family stories. Little moments with my granddaughter, old memories from my banking days, or spontaneous trips that turned into lifelong memories.

Sharing these stories with friends often leads to laughter, sometimes tears, and always a reminder that life is precious and fleeting.

Discussing childhood memories or parenting lessons with others often turns into a beautiful bonding session.

These aren’t just conversations—they are bridges that connect generations.

And then, when the stars are out and the world feels quiet, I enjoy those rare conversations about spirituality. What is the purpose of life?

How do we remain unaffected by illusion or Maya? How can we stay Krishna-conscious or God-conscious in a noisy world?

These topics may not always have concrete answers, but discussing them gives me peace. It keeps me grounded.

It reminds me that I am a tiny part of something vast, eternal, and beautiful.

💬 Why This Question Matters

So when someone asks, “What topics do you like to discuss?” I see it as more than just small talk. It’s an invitation—to know someone more intimately. It’s a way to say: “Tell me what lights up your soul.”

Each of us has a collection of topics that make us feel alive. Finding those, and sharing them with others, is one of life’s greatest joys.

And you, dear reader—what are your favourite topics? What makes you lose track of time when you talk about it?

Whatever it is, pursue it, talk about it, write about it. Because your voice, your story, your truth—matters.

Thank you for reading. I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.

With love and light,
Vijay Verma
