# My Journey Towards a Dream Job

Bloganuary writing prompt
What’s your dream job?

As I sit back and reflect on my professional journey, I am reminded of the twists and turns that life has thrown at me. From aspiring to be a doctor to finding myself amidst the hustle and bustle of the banking world, my dreams have evolved over the years.

The crisp currency notes in the bank’s vaults once fueled my dreams of becoming a millionaire, but reality had different plans for me. Today, as a retiree, I find myself embarking on a new chapter, one that is fueled by my passion for creativity and self-expression.

My Journey Towards a Dream Career

In the realm of dreams, my journey has been a rollercoaster ride. The corridors of the hospital that I once envisioned as my workplace were replaced by the busy floors of a bank.

The allure of medicine gave way to the world of finance, and as I stood amidst towering stacks of currency notes, I couldn’t help but wonder about the roads not taken. However, life had a unique way of steering me towards uncharted territories.

The banking sector taught me invaluable lessons about financial stability and discipline, yet it failed to quench the creative fire within me. The dream of becoming a millionaire remained elusive, but it fueled a new aspiration – a career that would seamlessly blend passion and profession.

As the curtain fell on my banking career, I found myself facing a blank canvas, quite literally.

Retirement, for some, might signal the end of productivity, but for me, it marked the beginning of a pursuit long overdue. I delved into the question posed by the Bloganuary writing prompt: “What is your dream job?”

With each stroke of my metaphorical pen, I discovered a new dream – a dream that involved writing, painting, and creating.

Now, with the currency chest replaced by a canvas and the inked paperwork swapped for a vibrant palette, I dream of a career that allows me to explore the depths of my creativity. Writing, an art form that I had merely dabbled in during my professional life, has taken center stage.

Yes, the words flow like a river, carrying with them the stories, poems, and thoughts that have been marinating in my mind for years.

Becoming an ideal husband and a lovable father had been part of another dream that life didn’t unfold as planned. However, my dreams continue to evolve. Now, my canvas holds the hues of family life, love, and the poignant beauty of missed dreams.

Each stroke is a testament to the life I’ve lived and the dreams that still dance in the corridors of my mind.

The dream of having a daughter may not have materialized, but the dream of creating a legacy through my art and words is alive and thriving. The prospect of turning my passion into a profession excites me in ways I hadn’t anticipated.

Retirement isn’t about slowing down; it’s about embracing the unexplored facets of oneself.

In this new chapter of my life, I find myself wearing multiple hats – that of a writer, a painter, a storyteller, and a content creator. The canvas is not just a space for colors to blend; it’s a platform where I can narrate stories, evoke emotions, and share my perspective with the world.

My blog becomes the diary of my thoughts, a chronicle of my journey from banking to brushstrokes.

As I explore the realms of video creation, I envision a future where my visual narratives complement my written words. The fusion of storytelling and imagery creates a dynamic medium for self-expression.

With each video, I aim to captivate the audience, inviting them into the world I’ve carefully crafted with my creativity.

Painting and arts, once relegated to the sidelines, have taken center stage. The strokes of my brush echo the rhythm of my heart, and the canvas becomes a mirror reflecting the kaleidoscope of my emotions. Each piece is a conversation between colors, shapes, and the soul.

The dream now is not just about personal fulfillment but also about building a sustainable income. The prospect of monetizing my passion fuels my dedication to creating content that resonates with a diverse audience.

The dream is no longer confined to the realms of sleep; it’s a tangible goal that propels me forward, eager to explore the uncharted territories of the creative industry.

Yes, friends, my dream job isn’t a fixed destination; it’s a journey of self-discovery and constant evolution. From the structured world of banking to the boundless expanse of creativity, I’ve found my calling in the pursuit of words, colors, and stories.

True, Retirement isn’t an end; it’s a new beginning, and I am excited to see where the brushstrokes of my dreams will lead me next.
