A Heartfelt Tribute on Mother’s Day
By Vijay Verma | retiredkalam.com

Hello, Dear Friends,

Today is Mother’s Day—a day of celebration, gratitude, and remembrance. While many are blessed to still have their mothers by their side, there are those of us for whom this day brings a bittersweet ache. I am one of them.

I love my mother deeply, but I am unfortunate—she left us and now rests in peace far away, in a world beyond ours. She departed while abroad, and I never got the chance to say goodbye in person.

Not a single day goes by when I don’t remember her smile, her soft voice, and the warmth of her lap, which once felt like the safest place on Earth.

Today, on this occasion of Mother’s Day, I want to honor her memory by sharing a heartfelt poem—one that echoes the emotions I carry within.

This poem is a tribute not only to my mother but to all the selfless mothers who have touched our lives with their unconditional love and quiet sacrifices.

This piece paints a tender picture of a mother’s everlasting love—how she nurtures us, watches us grow, and finally, with tears held back, blesses us as she bids farewell. Her love doesn’t end—it transforms into a light that guides us forever.

A Mother’s Last Goodbye

Resting my head in your arms, I’ll sing my final song,
I shall go to a place from where I won’t return for long.

Those tiny fingers I once held to teach you how to walk,
Are now the hands that gently caress me as we talk.

For your peaceful sleep, I spent many sleepless nights,
And you, too, held onto my breath with all your might.

In every joy of yours, my love and blessings reside,
Now, in this moment of farewell, my heart swells inside.

Shed no tears, my dear, just take your mother’s grace,
Let me depart in peace, with your love in my embrace.

Your journey ahead will be bright and full of cheer,
With a mother’s prayers lighting your path so clear.
(Vijay Verma)

As I read these lines, my heart swells with emotions. It’s almost as if I can hear my mother’s voice—soft, reassuring, filled with eternal love. Her prayers still echo in my life, helping me move forward with courage and hope.

To everyone reading this today—if your mother is still with you, hug her tightly. Cherish her words, her presence, her stories.

And if, like me, your mother lives on in your memories, then close your eyes, place your hand on your heart, and know that she’s right there—always blessing you with her invisible arms of love.

Happy Mother’s Day.
Let us honor the divine spirit of every mother today and every day.

(Vijay Verma)
