A New Year for My Soul as an Artist

Time for Reflection and Dreaming
As the calendar turns the page to a new year, I find myself in the quiet space between passion and excitement, eagerly welcoming the possibilities that lie ahead. This is the time for reflection and dreaming, a period charged with new zeal and passion.
The turning point in igniting my creativity has sparked conversations about goal-setting and annual reviews, setting the stage for a profound journey as an artist in the coming year.
In the realm of creativity, setting goals isn’t merely a task; it’s a lifeline to the soul. I’ve come to understand that unlocking my artistic potential involves not only defining aspirations but also understanding the profound why behind these goals.
Yes, It’s a process that goes beyond jotting down intentions; it demands carving out dedicated time for my art and fending off the urgencies that threaten to erode it.

My soul feels it.
For me, the urgency emanates from a deep desire to paint, an intrinsic need to bring forth what simmers within. The thought of neglecting my art sends ripples of unease through my soul. There’s an ache that rises, a torment in not turning up. It might sound dramatic, but the soul feels it.
Yet, in the act of painting, even amidst struggles, I find myself smiling with the sheer joy of creation.
To guide my journey into the new year, I engage in a profound review of the past twelve months. With an art journal adorned with 851 sketches and various art forms, I openly declare that I fell short of my goal of achieving 1000 sketches.
Yet, in probing the highs and lows of my artistic endeavors, I gain insights into the invisible barriers that hinder my creative flow.

The journey of artistic evolution
Reflecting on beliefs, excuses, fears, and doubts, I prepare to shift my focus forward. What are the big dream goals that will shape my art and art practice in the coming year?
I encourage myself to dream without restraint, disregarding the ‘buts’ that may attempt to surface. What skills do I crave to learn, improve, or master? Who can guide me on this journey of artistic evolution?
As I set the stage for the new year, I define my word, phrase, or theme—a source of inspiration to fuel my creative engine.
Pondering how I want to remember the year ahead, envisioning milestones and fantastic accomplishments, I set a new goal to have an art journal with 1234 sketches and various art forms.

My Sketches captured in digital form
In this exhilarating dance between introspection and projection, I add another exciting dimension to my artistic pursuits. Now, my sketches are not only on paper but also captured in digital form.
My new year’s goal includes creating videos of my drawings and sketches and sharing them online. In this process, I find contentment and happiness, a new avenue to express and showcase my creativity.

Friends, join me on this exciting journey into ‘A New Year for My Soul as an Artist: Setting Goals and Igniting Creativity.’ Let’s embark on a year of growth, learning, and unabashed celebration of our artistic wins.
