We always expect that others should think good of us. we want everybody should appreciate us. Everybody should think we are very nice.

But this expectation is impossible. No matter what you do, there will always be people who will think bad of you.

Here, I will tell you one story that I have heard somewhere. This is the story of Lord shiva and Parvati.

It is said that once lord shiva has asked Parvati — let’s go for a walk to mrityulok .

Parvati replied –. all right my lord, as you wish.

So, they both along with Bull Nandi landed in a village called Shivnagar. The people in the village did not recognize, who they are ?

Nandi the bull was also with them. so, Lord Shiva, Parvati and Nandi were walking along. The village people gathered there and said — These two are very unintelligent.

The bull is going vacant and they are walking on the ground. What sense does it make?

Lord Shiva told to Parvati – Have you heard what they are saying ?.

Parvati replied – Yes, My Lord.

So, let’s do what they think.  Let us both sit on Nandi.  

Lord Shiva and Parvati both sat down on Nandi and they were going ahead.

Now, as they move little further in the village there was another group of people sitting on the way.

Seeing both on Nandi, They said — Ram Ram Ram Ram, such cruelty to this animal, both of them are sitting on Nandi, they have no kind of pity towards that animal.

Then, Lord Shiva  said — Parvati , have you heard the discussion ?

Parwati said— Yes My Lord .

Let us do one thing, you get down and walk,  I will remain sitting on Nandi. 

Parvati said — as you wish.

Lord shiv was riding Nandi, and Parvati ji was walking along .

Again, they passed through a group. Those people saw and they said–, what is this ? the husband is riding the bull and the delicate wife is walking on the bare ground . No wonder women have raised the flag of rebellion that we must get equal right.

Lord Shiva again told to Parvati —   have you heard the discussion?

Parvati said — Yes Maharaj, that is the way.

 You sit in Kailash so you are not aware of it, but in this earth planet, it is ladies first.

Lord Shiva said — All right Parvati, in that case let us do one thing . you sit on Nandi and I will walk on the ground.

So now Parvati was riding the bull, and Lord Shiva was walking along.

They crossed another group of people in that village.

those people saw them and said – what Ghor kaliyug has come.

The wife is sitting on the bull and the husband is walking on the ground.

Now Lord Shiva said – Parvati, now there is only one option left, let us do one thing, let’s tie the Nandi to the trishul, and lift him up. 

So finally, Lord Shiva, hung Nandi from the trishul and they were lifting him and walking.

Now Both were crossing through  the  village panchayat .   People sitting at   panchayat Bhawan saw them and said — these people are not half mad but they are full mad.

After hearing their comments, Lord Shiva said to Parvati — this is why I brought you here to let you experience that no matter what you do, people will find fault in you.

There are two parties in this world — the good and the bad.

If you do bad deeds, the good people will call you bad. If you do good deeds, the bad people will call you bad. So, no matter what you do people will always have objections.

If you remain quite in a congregation, people will say he is simpleton, he does not know how to speak and interact. If you speak too much, they will say, he is a chatterbox, stay away from him. Otherwise, he will give you a headache.

In other words, no matter what you do they will always be people who have objections. Then why waste our energy in trying to be called good ? 

The greatest pleasure in life is doing what people say you cannot do.
